Sign of the Times

I know I haven't written in a while. Much has been going on but I haven't known how much I should talk about. It occured to me today that this is a place I can share a bit of who I am and what I believe as well as tell you about my music world. So....here goes...
In recent months Colorado has been the focus of some devastating events. As some of you may know it hits close to home for me because we have had loved ones in the thick of it all. Events such as the wild fires and the theater shootings can be un-nerving, especially when you have absolutely no control over any of these situations and you are too far away to even try. So you pray for the Lord to keep them safe.
The actuality of it all is that any one or all of these destructions can truly happen anywhere. These tragedies are not limited to one small specific area… There are nationwide droughts and excessive heat waves that have touched nearly every state of the union (except… Florida which has been underwater most recently and floods are just as devastating!) Drought combined with 100 degree temperatures I don't have to tell you, in and of itself can be the cause of wildfires wherever there are wooded areas, be they large or small.
There is no denying that you will find loopy loony people everywhere; people who have lost all true rhyme and reason for their existence, people who can snap at any moment or those who plan for months upon months calculating every aspect of the crime they have chosen to commit. Insanity or Satan? I am guessing the answer to that one is... YES.
Winds can whip up out of nowhere and flatten entire communities… and the examples can go on and on… In any case it is a sign of the times, and it has been a time of reflection for many of us.
I have heard that because of it all some people have come to a conclusion, there is no GOD, because He would never allow such tragedies to occur and hurt innocent people. Others have found this to be a time to come to know the Lord and seek out the comfort they have never experienced before and have started believing in HIM, and relying on His mercy and love to get them through.
Then there are those of us who are and have always been believers in our Heavenly Father. Those of us who know of His desire to be part of our lives, and protect us from what is to come, by believing in His Son and share the knowledge of the Love the Heavenly Father wants to give to us.
That is where I am… I am a believer in the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Even with all the knowledge I have in that regard, my humanness fights my faith, and thought I may fall time and time again, I fight back with all that is in me not to let it win. I rely on Jesus to stand in the gap for me, when I don’t have the strength or courage to do so for myself. I will sing about it in my music, I am not ashamed of standing up for the One who died for you and me.
I pray for myself, I pray for my loved ones, I pray for acquaintances, I pray for those I have never met; for their salvation, for their faith, for their safety. I pray for you.
I invite you to talk with me about it should you be interested. I don’t know everything, but I know enough to start a conversation and we can both grow from the experience.
I just thought you should know where I stand, and that you have a place in my heart.
